Electroneum Pools List & Simple Mining Guide

Last week I had spent some time with mining Electroneum crypto currency. And because I believe it is something valuable to mine i will share info regarding the pools i found. Not have much time so going in short.

- some of them are not allowed to open in enterprise or work environments(.io for example).

Simple guide how to start:

1. Create wallet

• Follow the guide on the official website or just do this: https://downloads.electroneum.com/offline_paper_electroneum_walletV1.5.html
• Remember to keep the wallet keys safely, maybe printing it is a good idea.
• To mine you need the public keys - 3 combined in one, like the mine in the end of the post.
• You can use the same Electroneum wallet on multiple devices.
• You can use this wallet to receive and send payments from other users, not only for mining.
• (How often and what amounts the mining pool will make payments to your wallet? - Depends on your mining power and hash rate, but usually if it is more often and for lower amounts is better.)

Note: Once you have created your offline wallet, the only way I know so far to check your balance e.g. how much ETNs you have in the wallet, is to import the offline wallet into the official Electroneum Command Line Wallet tool.

2. Download mining software.

• Follow the guide on the official website.
• Once downloaded the software can be used on multiple mining pools.

3. Choose mining pool

• Look at the share rate: e.g. KH/S or MH/S. Higher better for you, i usually go for the ones with MH/S or above.
• Check how often they get blocks. More blocks better for you.
• Check the fee they get for themselves. The less the better for you.
• Check the number of miners. The less the better for you.

Note: for best results you need combination of the points above - e.g. pool with good hash rate, with less miners, with small fee for the pool.

4. Start mining.

• Usually cmd or shell command, check the selected mining pool guidelines.
• You can use the official Electroneum GUI miner or other compatible GUI miner as well.

5. Payments

• Each pool has its own payment policies, your ETNs are transferred automatically to your ETN wallet.

Do not have mining hardware?

If your home Laptop or PC are too old, you can still mine. But in that case you need to buy some mining power. Check this guide on how to mine with NiceHash:

What to do with the mined ETNs

• Keep and wait the price to rise.
• Sell them now on the current market price. So far you can do at Cryptopia excahnge only.

I'm going to pay more for electricity than I will earn?

Well it depends what is the cost of the electricity in your Country/Provider. But so far ETNs are very profitable, having in mind the mining difficulty and the price of the mined ETNs. As well when you calculate the earnings vs electricity cost, have in mind that the price may rise in the future. So what you spend now for electricity, maybe is a just a little amount of what you can have in the future with the payed already electricity. Off course it can work other way around if you keep your ETNs and price goes down, you may be on loss.
